Four veterans of Taiwan's chip-design industry founded Leltek Inc. in 2013. The New Taipei City company has stuck to one field ever since: wireless handheld ultrasound. Sold under the LeSONO name, its scanners pair with an app on Android, iOS, or Windows, so a probe and a tablet make up the whole system. Credited with building Taiwan's first wireless handheld scanner, Leltek became a leading name in its home market after TFDA approval in 2020, surpassing 2,000 systems sold by late 2022. The flagship LX Series puts two arrays in one IP68-rated housing: the 192-element LX192LC and the LX128LC handle linear, convex and cardiac work, while the LX128LP pairs linear with phased array. Single-head options include the lightweight, waterproof LK128 and the LU700, each with convex, linear, phased array, micro-convex, and endocavity probes. Veterinary users have the LV128 range and the LU300M micro-convex probe, with presets for cats and dogs, cattle, horses, and laboratory rodents. Colour, power and pulsed-wave Doppler are optional, and automated bladder volume, ejection fraction and intima-media thickness tools are available where regulations allow.

Leltek designs its hardware and imaging software in-house and manufactures in Taiwan, drawing on the founders' background in electronics and communications technology. ASUS became an investor in 2020, the same year Leltek won the Pharmaceutical Technology R&D Award from Taiwan's health and economic affairs ministries. Taiwan Excellence Awards followed in 2021 and 2023, as did a 2022 National Brand Yushan Award for best product. Its quality system is certified to ISO 13485:2016, most recently renewed in October 2025. The range carries CE marking, TFDA approval and US FDA 510(k) clearances dating from 2020, and the LX Series is registered with ANVISA in Brazil. Clearance testing covered acoustic output, biocompatibility, cleaning and disinfection, and electrical, electromagnetic, thermal, mechanical and wireless safety, reflecting a clear focus on patient safety and consistent image quality.

LeSONO distributors cover Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and by late 2022 Leltek held import approvals in 13 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Teaching hospitals, regional hospitals and clinics in Taiwan use the system, which has also served at volunteer medical clinics at home and abroad. The scanners are aimed at clinicians working away from the scanning room: emergency and critical care teams, primary care, ambulance crews, home-care and remote health services, and vets. Leltek also works with OEM partners and maintains dedicated OEM builds of its Android and Windows software. Its trade-show appearances have included MEDICA, FIME, WHX Dubai and MD&M West. Online support runs through a help centre covering troubleshooting, repairs, video tutorials, measurement glossaries and disinfection, backed by real-time app updates and DICOM connectivity to PACS. In Taiwan, the company has also run hands-on workshops, including musculoskeletal ultrasound. Leltek says it wants LeSONO to become the doctor's visual stethoscope. For hospitals, clinics, and veterinary practices that need dependable point-of-care imaging, it is a Taiwanese partner with the approvals and probe selection to back that ambition.
