Urology services use the LK128E for prostate and pelvic examinations, the manufacturer's first listed urology applications. The 151° field of view provides a broad view of the region from a single contact point, and colour Doppler and power Doppler add flow information to the grey-scale image. Operators work from a familiar screen, which keeps the examination room simple. M-mode records movement along a single scan line against time.
Early obstetric services are the second user group. OB early is a listed application, and clinical obstetric measurement is part of the standard configuration, so clinicians take readings in the app during the examination. The FDA clearance for the series lists trans-vaginal and trans-rectal indications, which places the LK128E among the probes cleared for these approaches. Measurement results stay in the app alongside the image.
General pelvic examinations sit between the two groups. Pelvis is a listed clinical application, and a service that handles urology and early pregnancy cases can run both from the one wireless probe. A single device, app, and paired screen carry the work from one appointment to the next. The 15 cm depth covers the pelvic structures these applications target.
Physicians, sonographers and trained clinical staff run the probe through the app on a screen of their choice. A phone, tablet or laptop already in use at the site serves as that screen, and optional DICOM 3.0 passes archived studies to the imaging record. The 251 g, IP68 body moves between consulting rooms in the operator's hand.
