The 3008B is a hydraulic operating table for hospitals that want a secure, predictable platform at every stage of a case, from transfer to recovery. Surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre nurses, and operating department practitioners all rely on it to hold still and maintain position.
Patient transfer is where security starts. With the rotary brake set and the optional foot brake, if fitted, the table stays fixed while the team slides an anaesthetised or frail patient from a trolley. Once positioned, the sealed hydraulics hold the chosen height and angle through the operation.
Shoulder and breast surgery make good use of the 75° backboard. Raising the back and adding reverse Trendelenburg bring the patient close to a sitting posture for arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, and breast reconstruction. At the same time, the shoulder support frames help steady the trunk. Some head and neck operations use the same upright position to reduce venous congestion.
General surgery uses 20° of Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg for pelvic and upper abdominal work, and 20° of lateral tilt for exposure of the gallbladder or spleen. The 100 mm waist board lift opens the flank for renal surgery, and the leg boards lower 90° with the leg support frames for lithotomy. The headboard drops 90° for thyroid surgery, the arm-resting frames support upper-limb procedures, and the screen frame marks the sterile boundary.
Hospitals that prioritise patient safety and a clean theatre floor gain the most. Head-position control keeps adjustments with the anaesthetist, and leak-free Y-type seals keep oil away from where staff walk.
