The 3008A is a hydraulic operating table for hospitals whose theatres turn over many cases a day and clean thoroughly between each one. Surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre nurses, and operating department practitioners use it, while domestic and decontamination staff clean it between cases.
High-turnover general surgery lists are its typical setting. Hernia repairs, appendicectomies, cholecystectomies and bowel procedures follow one another, each with its own wash-down of the table base and column. Anti-corrosive 304 stainless steel handles are routine, and their smooth surfaces wipe clean quickly before the next patient arrives.
Positioning covers a broad general list. Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg at 20° serve pelvic and upper abdominal operations; a 20° lateral tilt exposes the gallbladder or spleen; and a 100 mm waist-board lift with shoulder support frames opens the flank for renal surgery. A headboard that drops 90° extends the neck for thyroidectomy, and leg boards that lower 90° with the leg support frames allow lithotomy for gynaecological and urological work.
Engineering and estates teams value the sealed hydraulics. Y-type sealing rings with double security keep oil inside the system, which keeps the theatre floor beneath the column clean and dry from one list to the next.
Hospitals in humid climates and units that use strong disinfectants gain most, because a corrosion-resistant base and column hold up well where moisture and cleaning chemicals are part of daily life. Head-position control lets the anaesthetist manage the table, and the rotary brake makes cleaning and repositioning simple.
