Transthoracic cardiac assessment runs on a phased array transducer, covering chamber and valve imaging with Doppler flow information. All clinical judgement, including whether an examination is indicated, which views are required and how measurements are interpreted, remains with the performing and reporting clinicians.
Functional assessment is supported where the cardiac quantification packages are enabled, with dimensions, volumes and indices calculated on the system and stored with the study.
Transoesophageal imaging is available where the appropriate probe and compatibility are supplied, providing acoustic windows close to the posterior structures.
Theatre use is served by carrying the system to the operating department, where it works on internal battery with the same transducers and settings.
Critical care assessment takes place at the bedside, with the system carried to the bay and images held for export on return.
General abdominal, vascular and superficial work is covered where curved array and linear transducers are among those supplied.
