Technical Assistant
About the Technical Assistant role
About MediGear
MediGear works with healthcare organisations, equipment suppliers and technical professionals to make medical equipment sourcing, delivery and support more accessible across international markets. Our work sits between the commercial and technical sides of healthcare equipment: understanding a requirement, identifying suitable options, coordinating reliable information and helping the right people move an order or project forward professionally.
The role
As a Technical Assistant, you will help keep product and project information organised so that engineers and commercial colleagues can work with accurate material. You will collect specifications, manuals, certificates and supplier responses, support routine product comparisons and follow up on outstanding technical information.
This is a good role for someone who wants to build practical experience in medical equipment and understands that careful preparation is a technical skill in itself. You are not expected to guess answers that need engineering judgement; you are expected to know when to escalate them.
How we work together
You will work under the direction of technical and commercial colleagues, with growing responsibility as your product knowledge develops. Reliability, attention to detail and follow-through are more important than trying to sound experienced before you are ready.
Your role
- Collect and organise product datasheets, manuals, certificates and other technical documents.
- Support routine comparison of customer requirements against available product information.
- Contact suppliers for missing specifications, compatibility details, accessories, consumables or service information.
- Prepare clear technical information packs for engineers, sales colleagues and customer discussions.
- Maintain structured technical records so that important documents can be found quickly when an enquiry becomes active.
- Track outstanding technical questions and follow up until a usable answer is received.
- Assist with installation, service or demonstration coordination when directed by an engineer.
- Escalate questions that require engineering judgement, regulatory interpretation or manufacturer approval.
- Build working knowledge across MediGear's equipment categories over time.
You are the right fit if
- You have technical education, training or a strong interest in biomedical, electrical, electronics, mechanical or medical equipment work.
- You are careful with documents and comfortable checking small details.
- You follow instructions well but also notice when information is missing.
- You are willing to learn product categories steadily rather than pretending to know what you have not yet learned.
- You communicate professionally with suppliers and colleagues.
- You are dependable with follow-up and comfortable working in a structured international environment.
