The SY-BS24P serves hospital rehabilitation teams that treat several patients at once. A medium-frequency host with 4 channels and up to 36 wireless low-frequency channels covers pain, neural, geriatric, orthopaedic, postpartum, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, as the manufacturer lists.
The manufacturer states that the system excites neuromuscular tissue, relieves pain, reduces inflammation, promotes local blood circulation, softens scars, and loosens adhesions. Each channel runs its own prescription, so one therapist can apply a different programme to each patient or body part in the same room.
Medium-frequency presets cover periarthritis of the shoulder, neck, waist and leg pain, osteoarthropathy, cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, sprain and sciatica. Low-frequency presets are grouped into muscle strength training, pain relief, sports injury recovery and obstetrics and gynaecology. NMES for hand, leg, and swallowing training, and TENS sit among them.
Therapists build custom prescriptions by setting the wave type, wavelength, and frequency, and adjusting pulse width and treatment time for each patient. For a hand, an electrode patch and a terminal sit on the forearm. For the shoulder and neck, an electrode patch sits on the area treated, and swallowing training uses a terminal at the neck.
The terminals weigh 30 g or less, charge wirelessly, and run for 4 hours, so patients can sit or move during a session. A hand, a shoulder, a neck or a leg can each be treated in the same room at the same time. The 3 kg host has a carry handle and can stay at a nurse's station while terminals move between wards.
