The KL09L is a ceiling-mounted surgical light for general operating theatres that take a broad mix of cases and need strong, shadow-controlled light over a single table. Surgeons, assistants, scrub nurses and anaesthetists work beneath it through lists that change from day to day.
General surgery is its everyday work. Laparotomies, appendicectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, mastectomies, and thyroid surgery all benefit from light that reaches the field from nine directions so that the surgeon can lean in and an assistant can retract without plunging the wound into shadow. The focus knob draws the beams together over a deep abdominal cavity.
Obstetric and gynaecological theatres use it for caesarean sections, hysterectomies and ovarian surgery, where the low radiant output keeps an awake mother comfortable, and the colour rendering helps the team assess bleeding and tissue. Orthopaedic and trauma teams use it for fracture fixation, tendon repair, and amputation, while urology teams use it for open procedures on the bladder and kidney.
District hospitals and surgical centres often fit the KL09L as the main light in a general theatre because it covers this wide caseload from one ceiling position. The 280 to 320 cm installation height suits a standard theatre ceiling, and the 280 VA input fits comfortably within a theatre’s lighting supply.
Ceiling mounting keeps the floor around the table clear for the anaesthetic machine, diathermy, suction, and instrument trolleys. Upkeep centres on the 24 V bulbs in the nine reflector chambers, which are replaced as needed so that every source contributes to shadow control.
