The KL05L.I (LED) is a mobile surgical light for teams that need high illuminance at the table and want the field to stay lit through a power cut. Obstetricians, surgeons, midwives, anaesthetists and theatre nurses use it in hospitals of every size, and especially where the electricity supply is irregular.
Maternity units are a strong fit. Caesarean sections are often performed at short notice and at any hour, and the mother is usually awake. With 90,000 lux at 1 metre and colour rendering up to Ra 100, the obstetric team can clearly see the uterus, the bladder, and bleeding points. The batteries keep the field lit if the mains fail during delivery or when the uterus is being closed.
District and rural hospitals use it as the main light in a general theatre for laparotomies, hernia repairs, fracture fixation and amputations. Outreach surgical programmes and field hospitals take it into temporary theatres, where the castor base lets them set it up quickly, and the battery reserve covers generator changeovers.
Larger hospitals keep it as a mobile second light for complex cases, as a standby while a ceiling light is serviced, or as the light in an overflow theatre. Emergency departments use it for major wound exploration in resuscitation rooms.
In every setting, the radiant output stays below 6 mW/m² per lux, which keeps exposed tissue moist and awake patients comfortable. Converging LED reflector units fill shadows cast by the team. The routine care for this lamp is keeping its two 12 V, 12 Ah lead-acid batteries in working order and wiping down the head and base between cases.
