The KL04L is a ceiling-mounted surgical light for rooms where incisions are made, and wounds remain open long enough for the light's heat to matter. Its users are surgeons, assistants, scrub nurses and anaesthetists working around a fixed operating table.
General and day-case operating theatres are its main home. Hernia repairs, excisions, orthopaedic limb procedures, and soft-tissue surgery all need strong, colour-accurate light on the field for the whole case. With 60,000 lux at 1 metre and a temperature rise of 2 °C or less at the patient's head, the KL04L lights the wound while keeping exposed tissue from drying and the patient from overheating under the drapes.
Obstetric theatres and delivery suites use it for caesarean sections and perineal repair, where the field must be clearly lit, and the mother is often awake and aware of heat on her skin. Gynaecology and urology theatres use it for open and perineal procedures. Plastic and reconstructive surgery lists value colour rendering of up to Ra 100 because the colour of a flap or graft is the first sign of how its blood supply is doing.
Emergency theatres, minor operation rooms in larger outpatient departments, and procedure rooms in district hospitals and surgical centres use the lamp in the same way. Mounting it on the ceiling frees the floor around the table for the team, the instrument trolleys and the anaesthetic machine, and the centre handle lets the surgeon redirect the beam without breaking concentration. For departments that maintain their own equipment, the 24 V, 100 W bulb rating makes spares simple to identify and keep in stock.
