The KL-LED·SZ4/SZ4 suits general, obstetric, orthopaedic and trauma theatres in district and community hospitals, and any unit whose lists are mostly open surgery. Its case is population fit. The table describes a lamp with one colour tone, a dimmer, and no endoscopy setting; that profile fits some theatres well and others poorly.
It fits open general surgery. Up to 120,000 lux per head, a 150 cm depth of illumination, and a 70 to 140 cm working distance light an abdominal or pelvic field as the table height changes. Two heads fill each other’s shadows. A fixed neutral white of about 4500 K gives every surgeon the same view of tissue from one list to the next, with no colour setting for staff to choose. Output down to 40,000 lux covers closure and superficial work, and the heat-to-light ratio of 3.2 mW/m²·lx or less keeps one head at up to about 384 W/m².
It fits other work less well. With no endo mode listed, a laparoscopic list depends on switching the heads off and dimming the room. Teams that want cool light for contrast or warm light for awake patients have no setting for either. Specialities that work in deep, narrow cavities may want the 160,000 lux upper limit of IEC 60601-2-41. Both heads overlapped at full output give up to about 768 W/m², so one should be turned down in long cases. The table gives no R9 figure and no battery.
District procurement leads, NHS procurement routes and overseas tender boards will ask for the device class, the IEC 60601-2-41 test report and a declaration of conformity. The manufacturer issues the conformity documentation these procurement routes require, and the enquiry team shares it.
