The KL-LED·STR78 suits minor operations rooms, day-surgery theatres, endoscopy and laparoscopy rooms, obstetric theatres, emergency departments and treatment rooms with one table. Its case is population-fit. A single head at 160,000 lux fits some rooms and procedures closely, and its installation figures and one-direction light define the rest.
The fit starts with the room. Keling’s ceiling range of 270 to 320 cm decides which rooms can take the lamp, and one arm set leaves the ceiling free for a pendant or monitor. It continues with the procedure. A field adjustable from 10 to 30 cm and an illumination depth of 150 cm cover small incisions and deep cavities, and a colour temperature from 3000 to 6700 K lets the surgeon choose the tissue tone. Endo mode at 15,000 lux suits laparoscopy, where the team works from a screen. Four memories let you start a list from a known setting.
The limits follow from one head. Light arrives from a single direction, so open surgery with several people around the wound may need a second source. IEC 60601-2-41 sets central illuminance between 40,000 and 160,000 lux and expects light back within 5 seconds of a supply failure, so the backup supply needs to settle. At full output, the stated heat-to-light ratio gives up to about 512 W/m² at the field, which matters in long cases and on exposed tissue.
Theatre project teams, NHS procurement routes and public buyers overseas will ask for the device class, the IEC 60601-2-41 test report and a declaration of conformity. The manufacturer issues the conformity documentation these procurement routes require, and the enquiry team shares it.
