The KL-DL.C is an electric operating table for hospitals whose theatre teams change often, through rotas, bank and agency cover or training placements. Surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre nurses, operating department practitioners, and students all use it.
Day-surgery units and district hospitals that run with lean staffing benefit most from its single control point. A newly arrived nurse can learn the hand-held remote in one short session, then raise, lower, tilt, and shape the table for any case on the list without searching for separate panels or levers.
Gynaecology and urology lists are physically demanding for the team. Gas springs make it easier to lower a patient’s legs to 90° and open them to 180°, and the split leg plates come away for perineal, vaginal, and transurethral access, while the leg support frames hold the patient in lithotomy.
General surgery uses 15° of Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg for pelvic and upper abdominal operations, and 15° of lateral tilt to expose the gallbladder or spleen. For kidney and flank approaches, the lumbar bridge lifts the waist board 100 mm, and the shoulder support frames hold the patient on the side. The headboard drops 90° for neck extension in thyroid surgery, and the arm resting frames support hand and forearm procedures. The screen frame separates the anaesthetist from the sterile field.
Between cases, one person can release the foot-operated brake, move the table for cleaning, and lock it again, while staff quickly wipe down the stainless base and column cover. The quiet brand motor keeps the room calm while staff talk through the next patient.
