The KL-D.IA-II is an electric operating table for hospitals whose lists include long operations, where what lies under the patient matters for hours at a time. Surgeons, anaesthetists, scrub nurses and operating department practitioners position patients on it across general and specialist work.
Long general and colorectal operations, such as bowel resections and complex hernia repairs, keep a patient still for several hours. High-density memory foam spreads weight across the back, sacrum and heels, the areas most exposed to pressure during lengthy supine surgery, and the single-piece cover leaves no seam pressing into the skin.
Gynaecology and urology use the split, detachable leg plates with the leg supports for lithotomy. Gas springs let the team lower and raise the legs steadily, which protects hips and knees during positioning. For renal and flank surgery, the shoulder and waist supports hold the patient on the side while the waist board lifts 100 mm, and the foam cushions the dependent shoulder and hip.
Orthopaedic and trauma teams swap the head and leg plates when a C-arm is needed, and the carbon-fibre surface allows X-ray inspection and filming during fixation. Head and neck surgeons lower the headboard 90° for neck extension, with gas springs controlling the movement.
Elderly patients, thin patients and those with fragile skin gain most from this approach. Smooth electro-hydraulic movement from imported motors and valves avoids jolts during tilt and height changes; the arm supports and screen complete the setup, and the electric brakes hold the table in position.
