The KL-D III-I (New) is an electric operating table for hospitals that run mixed lists through the same theatre and want each position change to take seconds. Surgeons, anaesthetists, scrub nurses and operating department practitioners all use its controls during a case.
General surgery lists move between supine, Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg several times a day. With 25° of tilt in each direction and presets set from a single key, the circulating nurse uses the hand-held remote to set the pelvic or upper abdominal position while the surgeon stays scrubbed. The V shape and lumbar corners, together with the 100 mm waist board lift, help open the flank for renal and gallbladder approaches.
Gynaecology and urology use the leg plates, which split, detach and open outwards through 180°, for lithotomy and perineal access. When a list moves to head and neck work, the exchangeable head and leg boards let staff turn the configuration round instead of bringing in another table. ENT, ophthalmic and maxillofacial surgeons who operate seated benefit from the low 500 mm starting height.
Orthopaedic and trauma teams use the carbon plastic surface and 320 mm longitudinal travel when a C-arm is needed to check reduction during fracture fixation. The shoulder and waist supports and arm supports hold patients in lateral positions for hip and thoracic surgery, and the screen separates the anaesthetist’s area from the sterile field.
Busy day-surgery units and district hospitals with one or two theatres gain most from this routine. Staff set and reset positions with a key press from the remote or panel; the self-locking function holds them once set, and the electric brake lets staff move and secure the table between cases.
