The Humphrey Lens Analyser 360 serves optical practices and optometry and ophthalmology clinics, where staff check spectacle and contact lens power before dispensing or during a patient's appointment. Opticians, optometrists, and dispensing assistants place a lens in the instrument and read sphere, cylinder, axis, and prism in a single measurement routine. Optical laboratories that inspect finished pairs before dispatch can use it in the same way.
Day-to-day neutralisation follows an icon-based routine. The interface guides the operator, gives continuous feedback and flags special situations such as lens aberrations and rapid power changes, which matter most on progressive lenses. Pupillary distance is measured automatically, monocular and binocular, without the lens being centred, so you can measure a pair of glasses as it stands.
Transmission is where the LA 360 adds a second job. Its SPEXAN spectrometer reads UV-B, UV-A, and visible light transmission from 290 to 700 nm, so the practice can show a patient how much ultraviolet a pair passes through, alongside its prescription. Tints down to 5% light transmission and coated lenses stay within the instrument's measurement range.
The instrument measures contact lenses, hard and soft, and corrects high-index lenses once the operator enters the material's Abbe value. The unit can print each result on 58 mm thermal paper for the patient record, and two RS-232 ports carry data to other equipment, including Humphrey automatic refractors. The built-in printer uses thermal paper as a routine consumable, and the ACCURx-Plus software is stored on a CF card that ships with the unit.
