The SJG-6500 is aimed at optical practices and laboratories that glaze polycarbonate lenses alongside CR-39 and glass. In an independent optical practice, a single edger compatible with all three materials means polycarbonate prescriptions, for example safety, sports and children's prescriptions, can be completed in-house with the rest of the day's work.
Optical technicians and glazing staff set lens gripping force in multiple steps, choosing how firmly each lens is held. The clear, domed cover keeps the lens and clamp shafts in view during processing, and the membrane keypad on the front panel carries the controls.
Practices without a plumbed water point in the workroom can run the SJG-6500 from a circulating water tank, while workshops with a mains water supply can take the optional direct connection. That flexibility lets the edger be placed in a back room, a dispensary workshop or a laboratory bay.
Optical laboratories handling a steady mix of lens materials can use it as a dedicated station for polycarbonate work, or as a general edger for CR-39 and glass, across lens diameters of 18 to 80 mm.
Hospital eye departments and eye clinics with an on-site glazing room can use the SJG-6500 to complete spectacles for patients within the building, including polycarbonate lenses for children's and safety prescriptions.
Eyewear retailers with a branch or central workshop can install it on a standard bench, given its 520 × 480 mm footprint and 44 kg weight, and choose the water connection that suits the site. It runs on either AC 220 V 50 Hz or AC 110 V 60 Hz.
