The SJG-5105 is aimed at optical practices and laboratories that need to edge small lenses as well as standard sizes. Frames with compact eye shapes, such as narrow rectangular styles, half-eye readers and small children's frames, can produce lens shapes close to or below 18 mm in one direction. With the optional small clamp lens bearing, the edger handles lenses down to 14 mm, so these jobs can stay in-house.
In an independent optical practice, the SJG-5105 can serve as the everyday edger for polycarbonate, CR-39 and glass across 18 to 80 mm. The same machine then takes on small-lens work once the bearing is fitted, without a second edger.
Optical technicians and glazing staff set grinding pressure in multiple steps between 0.45 and 1.10 MPa. The range gives the operator room to match the force to each lens and material.
Optical laboratories that receive orders for small frames from several practices can use the SJG-5105 as a dedicated station for that work, alongside larger machines for routine volume.
Hospital eye departments and eye clinics with an on-site glazing room can use it to complete spectacles for patients, including small lenses for compact frames.
Eyewear retailers with a branch workshop can place it on a standard bench, using the 510 × 410 mm footprint and the clear domed cover to keep an eye on each job. The 220 V and 110 V versions let the same model be specified for sites on either supply. Staff can follow each cycle through the cover and change the pressure step for the next lens.
