The HY-6188 is aimed at optical practices and laboratories setting up or extending in-house edging across polycarbonate, CR-39 resin and mineral glass. An independent optical practice can place it in a workroom and complete jobs in all three materials without sending polycarbonate work out.
Because two supply versions are offered, 220 V at 50 Hz and 110 V at 60 Hz, the same model can be specified for sites on either standard. Groups with practices in different regions can keep one edger across their estate.
Workrooms without plumbing can run the machine from a circulating water tank, while laboratories with a tap nearby can use a mains water connection. Together with a working range of 5 to 40 °C, this lets the HY-6188 go into a back room, a dispensary corner or a laboratory bay.
Optical technicians and glazing staff benefit from the domed cover, which keeps the lens and clamp shafts in sight while the wheel works. Gripping force adjusts in multiple steps, and the membrane keypad on the sloped front panel puts the controls at hand.
Optical laboratories can use the HY-6188 as a dedicated polycarbonate station beside other edgers, or as a general machine for resin and glass across lens diameters of 18 to 80 mm.
Hospital eye departments and eye clinics with an on-site glazing room can use it to finish spectacles for patients within the building, including polycarbonate lenses.
Eyewear retailers fitting out a branch workshop can plan around its 520 × 480 mm footprint and 44 kg weight on a standard bench.
