Contact Lens Base Curve
Contact lenses are measured across the same power range as spectacle lenses, with base curve stated from 6.0 to 9.00 on the instrument itself.
Three Addition Powers
The addition row lists Add, Ad2 and Ad3, giving three separate addition powers for trifocal and progressive designs that one figure cannot describe.
Four Resolution Steps
Sphere, cylinder and addition are each selectable at 0.01, 0.06, 0.12 or 0.25D, with prism reading in 0.01 increments across its own stated range.
Wide Power Range
Sphere runs minus 25.00 to plus 25.00D, cylinder 0.00 to plus or minus 10.00D and addition 0.00 to plus or minus 10.00D, with axis across 0 to 180 degrees.
Automatic Lens Identification
The type of lens is identified automatically with the measurement mode switching to suit, which the manufacturer relates to easier measurement of multi-focal lenses.
Tinted Lens Measurement
Coloured lenses with a transmittance of 10 per cent are stated as accurately measurable, which covers tinted spectacle lenses a plainer instrument may refuse.
Green Measurement Light
A green light emitting diode at 545nm provides the measurement light, which the manufacturer relates to quicker, more stable measurement with no numbers to set.
Display, Marking and Output
A 5.6 inch TFT colour LCD is fitted, lens diameter runs 15 to 100mm, marking uses an ink box, and the digital connector provided is RS-232C for output.
