The EC-3200 is aimed at optical practices and laboratories that glaze across glass, plastic and polycarbonate lenses and want a separate wheel for each stage of the edge. In an independent optical practice with a workroom, the edger and the CT-700 together cover tracing, centring and edging, so spectacles can be completed on the premises.
Optical technicians and glazing staff benefit from the dedicated wheels. Glass lenses are roughed on their own wheel and plastic lenses on another, before the finishing wheel shapes the edge. Where a frame calls for an exposed flat edge, the polishing wheel finishes it. Grooving prepares lenses for nylon-supported frames, and safety bevelling adds a small protective bevel.
Dispensing opticians can use the CT-700 to trace a pattern or demo lens while the customer is present. The shape imager finds the horizontal axis automatically and completes the measurement in under 3 seconds, and the tilting display can be angled for the person using it.
Optical laboratories handling repeat orders can store patterns and draw on frame memory for later jobs. Size accuracy of ±0.05 mm and axis accuracy of ±1° give a defined tolerance for each lens, and the 3D lens inspection system is part of the edger.
Hospital eye departments and eye clinics with an on-site glazing room can use the system to finish spectacles for patients in the building, across the three lens material types it supports.
Eyewear retailers with a branch workshop can set the edger on one bench and the CT-700 beside it, giving staff a compact tracing and edging station.
