The 8020 is made for eyecare retail, where customers pick out the frames and sunglasses they will wear. In optical practices it gathers a wide range into one upright, placed out on the floor where people waiting for a sight test or a collection can look through it. Eighteen positions on each of five faces give room for several ranges at once.
Pharmacies are a natural home for it. Many stock ready readers and sunglasses as everyday lines, and a single tall tower near the counter or at an aisle end gives each line its own face. Sunglass retailers, travel outlets and department store concessions use the same format to carry a seasonal collection in a small floor space.
Hospital eye departments and university optometry clinics with a dispensing area can also keep a frame selection on the 8020, so that a patient has something to browse before seeing the dispensing optician.
The people who look after it are dispensing opticians, optical assistants, pharmacy staff and shop teams. They load new stock, move ranges between faces as the seasons change and refill positions after sales. Managers and visual merchandisers decide where it goes on the floor plan and which range each face carries.
Events and temporary spaces suit it as well. At trade shows, promotions and pop-up eyewear sales, the tower fits within a 480 mm square, while its 1880 mm height lifts the frames above passing visitors. The 8020 carries no electrical parts, so it can be placed anywhere with level flooring and space to walk round it, without any thought of a power point.
