The VX-19 serves refraction rooms in optometry practices and ophthalmology clinics that test vision at working distances of 2 m to 8 m. Its main argument is range. The tests cover low vision correction through hyperacuity assessment, with contrast and colour testing included, so one screen serves a wide range of patients. Because the working distance is adjustable, the screen fits short and long rooms alike.
Contrast settings are adjustable, and the screen has a luminance of 300 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 400. Optotypes and display modes are varied. The design aims to be as easy to use as a television—a 22-key infrared remote controls every function, keeping the examiner beside the patient during the test. The examiner can move from acuity to contrast to colour without leaving the patient or changing equipment.
The screen supports multimedia, including video playback, and is upgradeable for future needs, so it can meet new requirements as the practice grows. A standard VESA 100 × 100 mount allows wall or stand installation. Listed accessories include the remote control, an Acuitab connection, a wall mount, a glare test, a table stand and a column.
Power is supplied at 110 to 230 V AC. The unit measures 430 × 70 × 370 mm and weighs 7 kg, making it suitable for a bench, wall, or column in a busy refraction room. The slim 70 mm depth leaves the wall or stand free for the rest of the examination equipment.
