The SCPlus serves dental practices that prepare root canals with a rotary motor and want a graded range of tip diameters in one system. SOCO lists it for endodontic treatment, and the clinician chooses each file and sets the motor.
The six sizes climb from a tip diameter of 12 in size 1202, through 16 in size 1602 and 17 in size 1712, to 18 in size 1805, 25 in size 2504 and 30 in size 3004. Tapers vary alongside them: 02vt on the two finest sizes, 05 on size 1805, 04 on the two widest tips and 12 on size 1712.
Motor settings fall into two groups. Size 1712 runs at 300 rpm with 3.0 N.cm of torque, while the other five run at 350 to 375 rpm with 1.5 N.cm. That leaves a short routine, because the motor changes only when size 1712 enters or leaves the sequence.
Length also forms part of the choice. Size 1712 is listed at 19 mm, and the other sizes at 21, 25 and 31 mm, so the clinician selects a length together with the size. Both choices appear on one list, so the clinician makes them before picking up the first file.
SOCO describes the system through a double-taper path file and a redo-shaping file, and its coloured dots give the team a quick way to sort the files. A dental assistant preparing the tray can match each dot to its size code, and the clinician reads the size from the handle during treatment.
