The SCF H-Files serve dental practices that perform root canal work and want a numbered range of thirteen NiTi sizes with one taper. SOCO describes the purpose as debris removal, and the clinician picks each file by number.
The numbers begin at 10 and 15, move through 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45, and finish with 50, 55, 60, 70 and 80. SOCO gives a taper of 02 for the range and calls it a round cross-section NiTi alloy. Since no separate taper is marked for any size, practitioners read the sizes from the numbers alone.
Length needs a decision too. The table shows 21, 25 and 31 mm without linking a length to a size. Anyone who needs a particular length for a size states it when ordering.
Two packings are on offer. The X6 single pack suits a practice that wants a single size on the shelf. The X1 assorted pack comes as two boxes: one covering sizes 15 to 40 and another covering sizes 45 to 80, each with 6 pieces.
The handle and labels help at the chairside. The picture shows a blue handle with a grip surface, and the labels come in seven colours. Because 15 and 45 share the colour white, a dental assistant also checks the number when preparing the tray. Because the taper figure covers the whole range, the practice has one value to note and can spend its time choosing the number and the length.
