The SCD05 suits dental and surgical teams who work at an operating microscope, where the person at the eyepieces sits close to the instrument for long periods. SOCO lists it as a microscope doctor chair, and its own microscopes are built for dental and surgical treatment. The chair gives the operator a place to sit that can be set to the work height.
The gas lift moves the seat through a 120-180 mm stroke, so the operator can raise or lower it to meet the eyepieces. The seat rotates, which lets the operator turn toward an assistant or an instrument tray without standing. SOCO describes the design as spreading the weight of the sitting person and reducing pressure on the thighs.
The backrest measures 400 × 260 mm and supports the seated person's back, while the two armrests, 270 × 100 mm, support the forearms. A foot ring on the column gives the feet a place to rest when the seat is raised. The 560 mm base rolls on 50 mm casters so that the chair can be moved between positions around the microscope.
The seat is covered in ultra-fine fibre leather and has high-resilience foam inside. It has a load capacity of 150 kg, and the chair's gross weight is 9.8 kg. A department can read the seat, backrest and armrest sizes in the specification table before choosing.
A department fitting out a treatment room can order the chair under the model code SCD05.
