The SC-UL Assorted Pack 06 serves dental practices that prepare root canals with a rotary motor and want several sizes in a single pack. SOCO lists endodontic treatment as the setting, and the clinician chooses the file and sets the motor.
The four sizes cover tip diameters from 15 to 25. Size 1503 has the finest tip with a 03 taper; size 1708 has a 17 tip with a 08 taper; size 2006 has a 20 tip; and size 2506 has a 25 tip. Both of the larger sizes carry a taper of 06.
Motor settings follow from the listed figures. Size 1708 runs at 300 rpm with 3.0 N.cm of torque, while sizes 1503, 2006 and 2506 run at 350 to 375 rpm with 1.5, 2.0 and 2.0 N.cm. Setting the motor for each size from this list keeps the routine the same from one patient to the next, because the values stay with the size code.
Length is part of the choice as well. Size 1708 is listed at 19 mm, and the other three sizes at 21, 25 and 31 mm, so the clinician selects a length together with the size.
Handles carry coloured dots: yellow for 1708, white for 1503, yellow for 2006 and red for 2506. A dental assistant who prepares the tray can match each dot to its size code and lay the files out in order, and the clinician can read the size from the handle during treatment.
