The RizyCure Light Device is the handheld curing light for OrthoHeal's FlexiOH immobiliser range, for plaster rooms, fracture clinics, emergency departments and hand therapy services using those devices.
Its role is simple and absolute. A FlexiOH immobiliser is supplied flexible and becomes rigid only under the light, so the lamp is not an accessory to the range but a condition of use. Departments budgeting for the immobilisers alone will find they have bought stock they cannot apply, which is a straightforward planning point that none of the immobiliser sheets raises.
The deployment question follows from that. Cure time described by the manufacturer is roughly three to five minutes depending on size, and the unit is mains-corded, so the lamp is occupied for that period and tethered to a socket. A single plaster room needs one. A department fitting across several locations, or running parallel bays at peak, needs to think about where the patient is, not where the lamp is. And because nothing in the range can be applied without it, a single unit is a single point of failure for the entire immobiliser stock.
The optical safety question deserves attention before first use, not after. The device removes ultraviolet, which is valuable, but the retinal hazard from high-intensity blue light remains and accumulates over a working day. Filtering eyewear, an optical output specification, and a documented assessment turn that from a risk into a controlled one.
