The WA05938A serves hospital sterile services departments and the operating theatres they supply wherever Olympus ENDOEYE video telescopes are in use. Sterile services technicians, theatre staff, and endoscopy teams use it for one telescope and its accessories at a time, sterilising, storing, and transporting them through the reprocessing cycle.
Sterilisation follows two validated routes. Prevacuum steam runs at 132 °C for 4 minutes or at 135 °C for 3 minutes with wrapped instruments, and immediate-use cycles for non-porous instruments run for 3 minutes at either temperature. After steam, the basket stays in place for 30 minutes of drying and 30 minutes of cooling at room temperature. Where a department relies on low-temperature sterilisation, the STERRAD 100S cycle and the STERRAD 100NX standard and express cycles are validated for the basket.
The silicone retainers do their work between those steps. They hold the telescope inside the closable wire basket, so the instrument travels from the steriliser to storage and onward within the reprocessing cycle, still seated in its retainers. Staff move the basket as a single enclosed unit, and the telescope stays seated in its retainers until the next procedure.
Load planning is defined. Double-wrapped with one telescope and its accessories, the basket reaches a validated maximum of 3,950 g. It is supplied non-sterile, sterilised before first use, and reusable thereafter; its materials are biocompatible to ISO 10993-1, ISO 10993-5, and ISO 10993-12. Olympus pairs the basket with its ENDOEYE video telescopes, including the ENDOEYE HD and ENDOEYE HD Im, so a theatre running either can keep one basket per telescope.
