The CYF-V2 serves urology departments that examine and treat the bladder, urethra, ureter and kidney through a flexible scope. A urologist passes the 5.4 mm insertion tube through the urethra and follows the examination on a live video image, with a 120° forward view and a depth of field from 3 to 50 mm. Theatre and endoscopy nurses assist at the control section and the monitor, and the four programmable switches keep frequently used functions within reach of the operating hand.
Diagnostic work is the first use. The wide view brings both ureteral orifices into one picture, and Narrow Band Imaging improves the visibility of vascular structures in the lining without dyes, drugs or contrast agents. The 210° upward and 120° downward bending range lets the tip follow the anatomy, while the EvolutionTip shaft profile is designed for smoother insertion and patient comfort.
Treatment is the second use. The 2.2 mm instrument channel accepts common endoscopic devices, and irrigation and aspiration run through it with one-handed suction control. Electrosurgical instruments work with the UES-40 unit, so a procedure can move from inspection to therapy without changing the scope.
Departments that reprocess scopes between lists plan around the leak test that precedes each cleaning, the MB-155 leakage tester, the MB-156 ETO cap and the BW-411B cleaning brush. The scope operates in rooms with conditions of 10 to 40 °C and 30 to 85% relative humidity. A department that standardises on one flexible video scope for inspection and therapy works to a single set of figures: a 4.8 mm distal end, a 5.4 mm insertion tube and a 380 mm working length.
