The E 435/3 serves sterile services departments and theatre decontamination units that reprocess reusable anaesthesia sets in a Miele PG 8535. Decontamination technicians load it with breathing tubes and parts returned from anaesthesia, and Miele markets it as a reprocessing solution for anaesthetic instruments.
Loading starts with the tubes. Each breathing tube, up to 1.5 m long, goes onto one of the six spring-holder nozzles and is laid along the spiral. The remaining parts go into the E 430/1 one-third mesh tray, and concertina breathing tubes go into the E 432 holder. Once the ML/2 sits in its bracket, the loaded trolley goes into the PG 8535, where the machine recognises the mobile unit and handles spray arm control.
The trolley earns its place as anaesthesia sets return in a steady flow. About two sets fit on one trolley, so a department works through its sets two at a time, with every tube on a nozzle and along the spiral. Because the mesh tray and the concertina tube holder ride on the same trolley as the tubes, each set travels through the programme as one group. Hot air drying then runs through the trolley connection, with the tubes still laid along the spiral.
Upkeep centres on the trolley and its two supplied accessories. The trolley is stainless steel and weighs 6.70 kg; as a passive item, it adds nothing to the charge or electrical testing.
