The E 337/1 serves dental practices, dental hospitals and sterile services departments that reprocess dental instruments in Miele thermal disinfectors and washer-disinfectors. Dental nurses and decontamination technicians load it with probes, tweezers and mouth mirrors, each standing upright in a compartment. Miele offers dental instrument reprocessing as an application area and places the insert in its dental and medical machines alike, so a hospital with both kinds of departments can use it in either.
Loading follows the instrument. Each goes into a compartment of the right size, chosen from 48 about 13 × 14 mm, 12 about 22 × 28 mm, and 4 about 25 × 28 mm. The filled insert then goes into the machine, and the instruments come back out in the compartments they were loaded into.
Sorting by size is the practical gain. Three-quarters of the 64 places are for small instruments, and the remaining 16 accommodate wider pieces. Because the compartments come in three sizes, slim and wider instruments can share one insert, each with its own place. A practice can then run probes, tweezers, and mouth mirrors through a single programme.
Sites with more than one Miele machine can use the insert across 15 models, including the G 7831 thermal disinfector, the PG 8581 and PG 859,1, and the PWD range.
