The E 131/1 serves sterile services departments, hospital reprocessing units and dental practices that clean mesh trays of surgical instruments and kidney dishes in Miele washer-disinfectors. Decontamination technicians and dental nurses load it with up to five trays at a time. Both kinds of loads reach the machine in the same insert. Its applications include reprocessing kidney dishes and surgical instruments.
Each tray sits in one of five positions between the six holders, which rise 160 mm and sit 80 mm apart. A mesh tray of instruments goes in the same way as a kidney dish, so a day of mixed loads runs through one insert. The loaded insert then goes into the machine's lower basket, and the trays come out where they went in.
One insert for two kinds of load keeps the accessory shelf short. A department that reprocesses both instrument trays and kidney dishes uses one insert design for both, and the E 363 is the mesh tray Miele designed around it. Staff learn one loading pattern, whichever load the day brings.
Sites with several Miele machines can use it across 15 models in the PG, PWA, and PWD ranges, including Miele's dental washer-disinfectors.
