Laboratory technicians and glass-washing staff hang flasks and measuring cylinders on its hooks as the glassware returns from the bench, and the insert goes into the machine as one load. Tall and short pieces can sit on the same insert, so the whole batch goes through together.
The two hook heights suit a mixed workload. Ten hooks stand at 175 mm and 16 stand at 105 mm, so one insert offers two sets of positions for pieces of different sizes. Neighbouring hooks are about 60 mm apart, which gives each piece its own place, and the 26 hooks together set the number of items per load.
