The ME22420 serves dental practices, medical practices and clinics that reprocess instruments in MELAG small steam sterilisers with a 45 cm deep chamber. Staff who prepare instrument sets seal them in sterilisation pouches and load them into the holder, where each pack stands upright for the entire cycle.
Drying is the stage the holder is built around. With the pouches upright, condensed water runs off the packaging, and MELAG pairs the holder with optimal drying results. Where drying needs support, MELAG recommends the optional foil holder, which suits practices that sterilise many pouches each day. MELAG also recommends placing transparent and paper pouches like index cards on their edges to improve drying, which is the position the holder provides.
The holder also follows MELAG's advice to load soft packs upright, with a small gap between them. A dental nurse or sterilisation assistant can therefore build a load that matches that advice every time.
Practices that run more than one MELAG model can use the same holder design across the Vacuklav, Euroklav 23 and Vacuclave 123 and 323 sterilisers named for it. Each of them has a 45 cm deep chamber. In the Vacuclave 43 B+ and 44 B+ Evolution and the Vacuclave 123 and 323, that chamber is 25 cm across. When a load holds more pouches than one tier allows, a second holder stacks on the first, so two tiers of upright packs share a single run. As a passive rack, it adds nothing to setup, connection, or charging in the decontamination room.
