Long-term care is the setting the HH-SB04 is designed around. The manufacturer built it for frequent use in nursing homes, and one cart can travel from room to room on its silent wheels, with clean water, wastewater collection, and a hose on board. Staff wash residents in bed, hair included, and the suction returns the used water to the cart, so each bed is still dry when the wash is over. For residents who spend most of the day in bed, a full wash stays part of the daily routine without a trip to the bathroom.
On hospital and clinic wards, the same wash serves patients who are confined to bed or have limited mobility. Nurses and healthcare assistants give the full wash at the bedside, using the 1.2 m hose from whichever side of the room is open. Patients whose transfer to a bathroom carries risk are washed without leaving the bed.
In rehabilitation centres, the cart covers the stage of recovery when a patient is still washed in bed. Hospices and home care complete the intended settings. A hospice patient who is too frail to transfer can be washed where they rest, with the motor running at around 65 dB. At home, the compact cart works without plumbing connections, so family carers and visiting care workers can bring a full wash to an ordinary bedroom.
In every setting, nurses, healthcare assistants, and carers operate the cart, setting the flush function and water pressure on the panel for each patient. Its clean-water supply and suction work together through each wash, so a wash in bed ends with the patient clean and the bed dry.
