Moving Arm Levers
Long, moving arm levers let a patient push and pull with the arms while they pedal. This brings the upper body into the exercise, so the arms work alongside the legs in one smooth, controlled movement in the water.
Dual Arm-And-Leg Action
By combining pedals with arm levers, the bike works the arms, legs and heart together. This dual action makes each session efficient, exercising the whole body at once rather than the legs alone.
Water Gives The Resistance
As the patient pedals and pushes the levers, both move against the water, which gives natural resistance and supports the body, so the exercise stays gentle.
Very Low-Impact Exercise
Because the water carries much of the body's weight and cushions the movement, the exercise is very low-impact. This puts far less load on the joints than working the arms and legs on land, helping patients who find land exercise hard.
Natural, Adjustable Effort
The resistance rises and falls with how fast and hard the patient moves, so the effort adjusts naturally to them. This makes the bike easy to control and lets a patient work within their own comfort at every stage.
Secure, Supportive Frame
The frame, saddle, pedals and arm levers are shaped to hold a patient comfortably and securely as they exercise in the water. A stable, supportive bike helps a patient feel safe and focus on their movement during a session.
Compact, Known Footprint
The AQX Aquabike measures 1000 by 600 by 1020 millimetres, a compact footprint that helps a clinic plan where it will sit in the pool and how it fits a programme.
