Sale on Manual & Electric Hospital Beds - Starting from 25 September!
Doha holds more than a million residents, the main public hospital campus and many private hospitals.
With around 1.19 million people in 2020, Doha has the largest population of any municipality. Hamad Medical City in Rumeilah hosts Hamad General Hospital, the Heart Hospital and the national cancer centre. The Ministry of Public Health is also based in the district.
MediGear is a UK-registered medical equipment distributor and B2B marketplace working with verified manufacturers and healthcare buyers in more than 80 countries. Its partner program opens that catalogue to businesses in Doha selling into Hamad Medical City hospitals, private hospitals such as Al-Ahli and Al Emadi, primary health care centres, laboratories and dental practices.
Three program tracks are open to businesses in Doha. Different business models, the same catalogue behind them — the right one depends on how much of the transaction you want to own.
Agents introduce qualified hospitals, clinics, distributors and procurement teams to MediGear. The role focuses on generating opportunities and connecting buyers with the team; MediGear handles quotations, supply, documentation and fulfilment. Earnings are commission-based on confirmed sales; no purchasing or inventory is required, and MediGear provides sales materials and product support. Most buyers are located within a few kilometres of the Corniche, although traffic requires careful scheduling. Specialist departments expect a hospital equipment supplier in Doha to manage complex, multi-site projects.
Distributors represent MediGear in an agreed country, region or territory and actively develop the local market — central Doha and West Bay, the western districts, or one product group nationwide. Distributors purchase products at distributor level for onward supply, and territorial rights may be exclusive or non-exclusive. This includes market development, commercial support, and regulatory and import coordination.
Resellers purchase at wholesale and resell independently through an existing medical business, online store, sales network or customer base. Order quantities are flexible, and you sell on your own terms to your own customers. Resellers operate independently without territorial or official distribution rights, so there is no territorial commitment and no market development obligation.
The program requires a Qatari commercial registration and a working route to healthcare buyers. Applications commonly come from:
Equipment distributors and importers already supplying public and private hospitals
Independent sales agents with contacts in theatre, imaging, pathology or dental
Online medical supply stores and e-commerce operators
Biomedical engineering firms adding equipment sales to service contracts
Practice fit-out, day surgery and healthcare project companies
Primary care, dental and laboratory equipment resellers
Scale and intense competition define the market. A medical equipment supplier in Doha faces international rivals and local agents. Private hospitals such as Al-Ahli Hospital, Aman and Al Farid buy on their own schedules.
Competitive margins. Partner-level commercial terms apply across the catalogue, with performance recognised for partners who hit agreed targets.
Full product catalogue. Certified equipment across diagnostics, surgical and therapeutic, lab and pathology, sterilisation, hospital furniture, dental, ENT and ophthalmic, rehabilitation, orthopaedic, cardiology, gastroenterology, neonatal, dermatology, veterinary and spare parts.
Sourcing and quotation support. Send an enquiry and the team sources the product, negotiates with the manufacturer and returns a documented quotation — including items outside the current catalogue.
Direct partnerships team. Order queries, supplier negotiations, logistics coordination, and after-sales issues go straight to the team by email, so you can focus on selling rather than chasing suppliers.
Marketing support. Co-branded brochures, digital assets, product imagery and joint campaigns you can put in front of buyers in Doha.
Regulatory support. Country-specific import guidance, certification documentation and connections to local regulatory consultants for market entry questions.
The Ministry of Public Health regulates medical devices, including device registration and licensing for establishments that import and distribute them. The Ministry of Public Health sets the prevailing requirements.
A locally licensed importer or authorised agent files the registration, and approvals held with recognised reference regulators are widely used to support a submission. The registration system has been progressively digitised and aligned with wider Gulf harmonisation work, so confirm requirements at the time of filing. Trade licensing and conformity matters sit with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Entry procedures and tariff treatment fall to the General Authority of Customs, applying the Gulf common customs tariff alongside health checks at entry. MediGear is not the registration holder for partner products and does not give regulatory advice.

Hospitals in Hamad Medical City, including its cancer care and research centre, renew MRI scanners, CT scanners, and linear accelerators on long cycles. Throughout the year, private hospitals purchase medical devices and supplies in Doha to support their own departments. Hamad Medical Corporation purchases through its Tenders and Contracts Section, and vendors must register before quoting.
Sea freight into Qatar has been severely disrupted since March 2026, with several major container lines suspending bookings, so partners should verify routing and delivery schedules before quoting.
Health centres such as West Bay, Al Sadd and Omar Bin Al Khattab add steady demand for diagnostic equipment. Specialised centres within Hamad Medical City coordinate complex procurement across multiple clinical departments. Doha Clinic Hospital, opened in 2001, was one of the country's first integrated private hospitals.
This page is published for general business and information purposes and is not an offer of partnership. MediGear reviews all applications, and approval is not guaranteed. Any partnership that proceeds is governed by the written terms agreed between MediGear and the partner. Product availability, category coverage, territory arrangements, commercial terms and any commission or margin structure vary by application and may change. The regulatory information here is general information about the Qatari framework and is not legal, regulatory or professional advice. Requirements administered by the Ministry of Public Health depend on the device, its classification, its intended purpose and the licensed importer or agent holding the registration, and the system continues to be developed. Partner businesses remain responsible for confirming what applies to their own products, and should obtain qualified regulatory, customs or legal advice where required.
Apply with your business details, the municipalities you cover and the track that interests you. The MediGear partnerships team reviews every application and will come back to you to discuss it.
The program is open to businesses holding a Qatari commercial registration and a genuine route to healthcare buyers in Doha: equipment distributors and importers, independent sales agents, online medical supply stores, biomedical engineering firms, healthcare project companies, and primary care, dental or laboratory resellers. Speciality experience carries more weight than company size.
Three. Sales agents introduce hospitals, clinics, distributors and procurement teams and earn commission on confirmed sales without holding stock. Authorised distributors represent MediGear in an agreed territory, purchase at distributor level and develop the local market. Resellers buy at wholesale and resell independently through a business they already run, without territorial rights or commitments.
No. Joining is free for businesses in Doha. No registration charges, subscriptions, or upfront payments are required to become an agent, distributor, or reseller. Distributors and resellers purchase the products they sell, and partners arrange their own local delivery, storage, and any marketing beyond the assets MediGear provides.
Agents earn commission on confirmed sales rather than a retainer. The rate depends on the product category, the order value and the volume you bring, and is confirmed in writing before you begin introducing buyers. Because agents hold no stock and carry no inventory risk, they earn only on completed orders.
Exclusive territorial rights are available to qualified distributors who can demonstrate market reach, financial capability and alignment with MediGear standards, assessed case by case. We also offer non-exclusive distribution, which is more common for partners entering a new category. Most partners begin in the centre, and a medical equipment distributor in Doha may extend to national coverage for one product group.
Partners receive onboarding, product knowledge materials, regulatory guidance for their market, sales tools and co-branded marketing assets. The partnerships team handles order queries, supplier negotiations and logistics coordination, including certification and customs documentation for inbound consignments.
As a general rule, yes. Devices are registered with the Ministry of Public Health before import and distribution, with a locally licensed importer or authorised agent filing the application. Approvals from recognised reference regulators are widely used to support a submission. MediGear is not the registration holder for partner products, so confirm your position with the ministry.
Not on its own. Certification from recognised reference regulators supports a Qatari submission and can shorten review, but national registration through a licensed importer or agent remains a separate requirement. Confirm the current position for each product before quoting.
