IPL Star is the trading name of Beijing Starlight S&T Development Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer of aesthetic and medical laser systems founded in Beijing in August 2007. It started with intense pulsed light, as the brand name suggests, and has since grown its catalogue across most energy-based treatments used in clinics and med spas today. Its medical diode lasers are its most clinically focused line. The 980nm diode laser, adjustable from 1 to 60W, treats vascular lesions, provides pain relief, performs laser lipolysis and treats nail fungus. The dual-wavelength 980nm and 1470nm platform supports lipolysis, percutaneous laser disc decompression and endovenous laser treatment, and the Endo-PRO and endolaser systems are used for minimally invasive skin tightening and fat reduction. For body contouring, the company offers 5D and 6D lipo lasers, with the 6D model combining six wavelengths between 635 and 980nm, along with the ELOVE body remodelling platform that combines EMS, laser lipolysis, radiofrequency and vacuum, an EMS sculpting unit and the Super 448 radiofrequency system. Development is handled by an in-house team of engineers with backgrounds in optics, mechanics, electronics and medicine, and the company builds both the hardware and the control software for its systems. That combination has taken two products through the US FDA’s 510(k) process. The company’s IPL therapy system was cleared in March 2011. A diode laser therapy device, submitted under its sister company Beijing Star New Tech Co., Ltd., was cleared in June 2023 as a powered laser surgical instrument. IPL Star exports to Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and across Asia.
